Camp McCumber Member groups
Our member groups are the backbone at Camp McCumber. Camp McCumber exists to provide a wonderful camp experience to each camper that is attending camp with one of the member groups. Each member group appoints members to the Camp McCumber Board of Directors. That board meets monthly or as needed to ensure that camp is running as efficiently, and more importantly as FUN, as possible.
The Lions of District 4-C1 created a camp for kids with Diabetes in 1988 at Camp McCumber. The objective of the camp was to help kids adjust to their situation and learn how to take care of themselves responsibly while living a normal life style.
Kids have the opportunity to explore nature, find new talents, try new activities, gain independence, and make lasting friendships and memories. Children choose and participate in unsupervised daily activities, including canoeing, fishing, archery, arts & crafts, hiking, campfires, chapel & sports activities.
